I’m a really curious person. I’m always wondering, “What’s actually going on right this moment?” It helps me get to what’s real – that’s basically what being a designer is all about. When the topic is yourself, things get a lot more challenging. This inner work is *hard* to do by yourself. That’s where I found the Personna leadership coaching immediately helpful in defining my personal leadership principles. I feel more grounded now in what should be. I’m able to articulate the power I’ve always known I had within but had struggled to put my finger on.

Which programme is right for me?
  • What is leadership coaching?
Leadership coaching is about helping you unlock the best way for YOU to lead in your organisation. While there are plenty of books and courses on how to lead, there is no book or course on the best ways for YOU to lead. To lead in the way only YOU can, given your story. To be the first leader like YOU. Coaching aims to align your values and vision with the organisation's. It’s for this reason that coaches can help make a substantial impact by actually working with you on enhancing your personal leadership qualities within the structure of your organisation so that you can achieve your goals faster - both your personal goals AND the organisation's.
  • What leadership coaching is NOT?
Coaching is NOT consulting. Both coaching and consulting involves goal-setting, planning and change management. However, you hire a coach to ask you the right questions, whereas you hire a consultant to give you the right answers. A consultant puts the solutions in, and a coach pulls the solutions out. Coaching is NOT therapy. Both coaching and therapy create safe spaces which invite self-reflection, self-awareness and behaviour change. However, coaching focuses on achieving business results, and therapy focuses on healing. Coaching looks to the future to guide action in the present, and therapy looks to the past to explain the present.
  • Who can benefit from leadership coaching?
New to role leader looking to facilitate quicker transitions: Develop a better understanding of the dynamics and requirements of your new role and adapt to it in a manner that is authentic and consistent with who you are. Because pretending to be someone else simply won’t scale. The coach focuses your attention on acquiring new insights, skills, and capabilities to ramp up operational effectiveness in the new domain. Senior leader looking to manage business complexity better: What looks like a people problem is often a growth situation. Things change, disruption happens, as they should. With change comes the need for adaptation, for fresh thinking and sometimes a total reboot. The coach helps you to reframe this problem as an emerging opportunity. Take a difficult situation and learn through it. High potential talent looking to accelerate leadership development: Leadership development is not one-size-fits-all. As if the same skills or leadership style is effective regardless of the context. The most effective way to learn to become a great leader is by doing the job. The coach provides a personalised individually-tailored way of learning rather than programmatic. This is learning in the flow of work. Learning at the speed of business. CEO looking for a safe space to have difficult conversations: Leaders can lead very lonely lives. Never in your life have you been so surrounded by people, yet felt so isolated. No one understands you. No one appreciates how hard the job is. Coaching allows for confidential conversations you cannot have with superiors, peers, employees, or family. The coach acts as a sounding board to explore different perspectives on organisation dynamics or strategic matters.
  • How does the coaching process work?
The coaching process typically begins with a chemistry fit to understand your strengths and areas for growth. Next is an objectives consultation to develop a customised coaching plan, outlining the objectives, timelines, and coaching techniques to be employed. Coaching sessions can take place in person, over the phone, or via video conferencing, and are usually scheduled at regular intervals. The coach will provide guidance, support, and accountability, helping you gain insights, develop strategies, and implement action plans to achieve your leadership goals.
  • How long does a coaching engagement usually last?
The duration of a coaching engagement varies depending on individual needs and goals. It can range from 3 months to 6 months, up to a year or more, with coaching sessions typically occurring on a regular basis. The length of the coaching engagement will be determined collaboratively between the coach and you.
  • How confidential is the coaching process?
Confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of the coaching relationship. Coaches adhere to strict professional standards and ethical guidelines that prioritise client confidentiality. The content of coaching sessions is treated as highly confidential, ensuring that you have a safe space to openly discuss sensitive issues without fear of disclosure.
  • How do I choose the right coach for me?
Choosing the right coach is crucial for a successful coaching experience. Three factors to consider: The coach's experience, expertise, coaching style and compatibility with your needs and personality. Consider their methodology and approach to coaching. Look for coaches who employ evidence-based techniques, use validated assessment tools, and offer a structured coaching process tailored to your specific needs. Seek out client testimonials and feedback to gauge the coach's effectiveness and impact.
  • How do I get started with a leadership coaching programme?
To get started, reach out to reputable coaching providers or individual coaches. Discuss your goals, expectations, and desired outcomes with them to ensure a mutual understanding. From there, you can begin the coaching journey and embark on a transformative process of leadership growth and development.
